TidyBox is a web app that turns ordinary boxes, containers, and shelves into smart storage. You stick a QR-code label on a box, scan it with your phone, and snap a photo of what's inside — AI recognizes the items and builds a searchable inventory for you. Later, when you need that one cable, ski glove, or jar of screws, you search once and TidyBox tells you exactly which box it's in.
There is no app to install and no account needed to scan: every TidyBox label opens in the phone's browser, in the visitor's own language.
The problem TidyBox solves
Most storage fails the same way. You pack things into boxes, write something vague on the side ("kitchen misc"), and six months later you're opening five boxes to find one item. Lists in notebooks and spreadsheets go stale the moment you move something. Dedicated inventory apps help, but they ask everyone in the household to install software and keep it updated by hand.
TidyBox removes the manual bookkeeping. The label on the box is the interface: scan it to see what's inside, scan it to add or remove items, scan it to tell a family member where the box lives.
How it works, step by step
- Stick or print a label. Buy printed sheets of durable smart labels in the TidyBox shop, or generate codes and print them at home on regular paper.
- Scan and snap a photo. Open the box, point your phone camera at the label, take a photo of the contents. TidyBox's AI recognizes the items and lists them. You can edit the list by hand — rename items, add notes, remove mistakes.
- Find anything with one search. Type "drill" into the search and TidyBox answers with the box, the collection it belongs to, and the location you assigned (garage, attic, office shelf).
Key concepts
- Boxes — one label = one box (or container, or shelf). Each has its own contents list and photos.
- Collections — a set of labels that belong together, for example everything from one move or one storage room. One search runs across the whole collection.
- Locations — rooms or places you define (garage, basement, office). Boxes are assigned to locations, so you always know where a box physically is.
- Access levels — a fresh label is open until claimed. Once you claim it, you choose: public, view-only, or private. You can invite family or colleagues with view or edit rights — they don't need to buy anything.

The Free plan (€0) covers casual home use. Pro (€4.99/month) adds more labels and AI recognitions for power users. Business (€50/month) is built for companies: 1,000 smart labels, branded scan pages, bulk API, and MCP integration so AI assistants like Claude can manage inventory programmatically.
